Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how the Supernova mobile application ("the App", "we", "our") handles your information. Supernova is a smart light control app that connects to your Supernova light over Bluetooth so you can adjust its brightness, color temperature and light effects.

The short version: Supernova does not collect, store, or share any personal information. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking. Light control happens entirely on your device over Bluetooth; the only network activity is downloading the Tutorials screen's content (text, images and videos), which contains no personal or device data.

1. Information We Collect

We do not collect any personal information. The App does not require you to create an account, and it does not transmit any data about you or your device to us or to any third party.

2. Bluetooth

The App uses Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) to discover and connect to your Supernova light. During scanning, the App can see the names and signal strength of nearby Bluetooth devices in order to show you your light. This information is used only on your device, only while the App is in use, and is never stored permanently or sent anywhere.

3. Camera, Microphone and Photos

Some versions of the App may offer optional capture features that use the camera, microphone, or photo library. If the App requests any of these permissions:

They are used solely to provide the feature you invoked (for example, capturing a photo or video).
All processing happens entirely on your device.
Photos and videos you capture are saved only to your own photo library.
Nothing is ever uploaded to us or to any third party.

You can decline these permissions and continue using the light control features of the App without restriction.

4. Data Stored on Your Device

The App may store your preferences (such as your last-used light settings) locally on your device. This data never leaves your device and is deleted when you uninstall the App.

5. Tutorial Content

The App's Tutorials screen loads its text, images and videos from Supabase, a backend hosting service. This content is the same for every user, is publicly viewable, and does not include or require any personal information — the App does not send your identity, device information, or usage activity to Supabase or anyone else.

6. Third-Party Services

Other than the Tutorial content described above, the App does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services.

7. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children and, since it collects no data from anyone, it does not knowingly collect any information from children.

8. Changes to This Policy

If we update this Privacy Policy, we will post the new version on this page and update the "Last updated" date above. Significant changes will be reflected in the App's release notes.
